FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between this (Slow-Drip) and regular Cold Brew (Immersion)? With regular cold brew (immersion), the coffee soaks in water for 12-24 hours, resulting in a very heavy and full-bodied coffee. Slow-drip (Kyoto method) lets cold water drip through the coffee over just a few hours. This results in a much lighter, cleaner, and more tea-like coffee, where the fruity notes really stand out.
Do I need to use paper filters? The brewer has a built-in fine mesh stainless steel filter, so paper filters are not strictly necessary. But many prefer to place a small paper filter (e.g., an Aeropress filter) over the coffee to ensure the water droplets are evenly distributed over the coffee bed.
Is it dishwasher safe? The glass parts and steel filter can withstand the dishwasher, but to preserve the beautiful surfaces as long as possible and protect the silicone parts, we recommend a quick hand rinse with warm water and mild soap right after use.
